Worship Service – “Would You Harbor Me?” – Rev. Dana Lightsey

If someone was being unfairly hunted and persecuted and they came to your door, what would you do? What would you want this church to do? How would you want to be treated if it were you? This service will explore our UU history of showing up at critical moments to harbor and even rescue the innocent. Music by Ryan Marvel and our NUUC Choir.
After the service, we will enjoy lunch together and watch the Ken Burns film, Defying the Nazis. This movie tells the story of Unitarian minister Waitstill Sharp (voiced by Tom Hanks) and his wife, Martha Sharp, who rescued thousands of Jews, intellectuals, and children during WWII. You can also join the movie virtually by staying on the same Zoom link as our worship service. The movie runs just over an hour. Please bring a dish to share.
