Worship Service – “Revelations of the Aramaic Jesus” with Rev. Timothy Dobson and Rev. Dana Lightsey
It is not unusual for some UUs to find Christian teachings difficult and even triggering. This Sunday’s service will give us a helpful reframing, with the focus on the teachings of Jesus directly from his native tongue of Aramaic, as translated by linguistic scholar Neil Douglas-Klotz. Klotz also wrote music for the words. Our presenter, Rev. Timothy Dobson, has been a student of these teachings and this music for thirty-five years. Timothy will lead us in singing some of these melodies and will delve into the rich metaphoric meanings behind the teachings.
Bio: Timothy Dobson is a minister of the All Seasons Chalice Church/Starhouse in Boulder and the founding minister of SpirtKeepers Interfaith Fellowship, which met for 20 years, also in Boulder. He has taught the Dances of Universal Peace along the Colorado Front Range and offered workshops through the dances nationally and internationally over the last 35 years.
