Join our welcoming West African drumming class! This six-week series is open to all levels. Beginners will learn basic drum sounds, play fundamental patterns, and build the skills to play music together as a group while experienced drummers will be challenged with solo phrases, breaks, and traditional dunun. Don’t know what any of that means? That’s okay—we’ll learn together in a supportive, joyful environment. Ever wanted to drum? This community class is a great place to start. We will perform periodically at NUUC and other locations, but participation is optional. No experience is needed and drums are provided. Come experience the joy of drumming together!
