About Us Rev. Todd Strickland, Minister
After graduating from Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, California, in 2000, Rev. Todd Strickland served seven years as Minister for Lifespan Religious Experience at Jefferson Unitarian Church in Golden. As he becomes minister of the Namaqua UU Congregation in August 2008, he will focus on preaching ministry, congregational growth, and personal counseling. He will also offer guidance to the congregation's religious education program.

Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the day to day operations of the congregation including the financial, administrative, property, and business affairs of the church. This is done through the committees, volunteers, and employees of the congregation.

Commitees
Administration
Coordinates Facilities, Finance, and Stewardship sub-committees.
Facility Management Sub-Committee
Oversees physical meeting space, including setting up and taking down, negotiating rental contracts, and building and maintaining congregational equipment.
Finance Sub-Committee
Establishes financial policy and procedures, subject to board approval, reviews financial records, prepares an annual budget, and conducts the annual pledge drive.
Adult RE
Encourages and provides opportunities for NUUC and the larger community to learn and stimulate spiritual growth based on the seven UU principles. Umbrella for a variety of activities meeting its purpose, including Open Forum, Women's Group and Evensong. Also manages the lending library.
Community Building
Coordinates Membership and Publicity Sub-Committees.
Membership Sub-Committee
Welcomes visitors, receives new members and involves, informs and tracks members. Oversees the church directory and the newsletter. Seeks to increase volunteer participation in the life of the congregation.
Publicity Sub-Committee
Guides outward communications and visibility, usually in printed form, news releases about events, services, and speakers, church listing in newspapers and on community web sites, brochures and literature, and event flyers or posters.
Leadership Development
Publicizes, solicits, and submits the names of candidates for vacant positions on the Board of Trustees and Congregational Committees. Maintains job descriptions and resource files for all volunteer positions. Provides and promotes leadership development in all areas of the congregation.
Ministry
Serves as a liaison between the minister and the congregation to identify concerns within the congregation and to help find solutions to those concerns. Also serves as minister to the minister.
Pastoral Care
Ministers to members and friends in hard times, recognizes accomplishment and joys in good times and communicates concerns and positive happenings to the congregation.
Religious Exploration
Supervises the RE Coordinator, locates mentors and teachers for RE programs, and initiates programs, services, and rites of passage for children and young adults.
Social Action
Acts as a vehicle for change and educates the congregation about ways to make the world a better place. Helps the congregation in taking actions to make social change.
Worship
Works with the minister to design worship services, coordinates lay services, and arranges for guest speakers. Arranges for Sunday orders of service. Contracts guest musicians and integrates music into the worship service. Oversees the worship setting.
